Bamberg Day Tour mixes history and a culinary delight
My "Bamberg Day Tour" takes you to this beautiful city located approx. 1-hour drive from Nuremberg in Upper Franconia.
My Bamberg tour will take you to all of the most interesting, historical sites within the historic city center.
Some of the sites we’ll see are the Residence Geyerswörth, the Old City Hall, the Bamberg Cathedral, the Old Royal Residence, the New Residence, Michaelsberg Abbey, and a visit to Altenburg Castle.
For lunch (not included in the tour price) we’ll have the opportunity to savor the Bamberger Onion and wash it down with some world-famous smoke beer.
Bamberg's historic city center has been a listed UNESCO world heritage site since 1993.
This makes Bamberg one of just twelve sites in Germany and one of the 400 sites worldwide that have been recognized in this manner.
More than 2,000 UNESCO-listed buildings, winding lanes, and an abundance of medieval churches make this city a real Franconian jewel.
This tour is a leisurely, kid-friendly, walking tour where YOU set the pace. Please don’t forget to wear comfortable walking shoes.
For parties of six or fewer, pick-up and drop-off with my personal vehicle from locations within central Nuremberg are FREE. If your party is larger than six people, please let me know so I can give you a quote for the additional costs involved.

Customer Feedback & Reviews
Kevin took us on a full-day tour of Bamberg. What a wonderful experience! He picked us up at our hotel in Nuremberg exactly at the planned time.
As we drove to Bamberg, Kevin described the history and background of the area.
Once there, he walked us through the city, pointing out the most interesting features and relating stories about the sites. My husband later said, "I read about the area before, but I learned a lot that I never knew!"
Kevin was very accommodating when it came to what we wanted to do.
When we reached Bamberg, we discovered that there was a beer festival going on, and he was happy to keep touring or sit with us in a beer tent and talk more about the city (we chose the latter!).
We would highly recommend Kevin. Very informative and thorough and accommodating. You won't regret it!

I booked the Bamberg day trip with Kevin back in June. He responded to my booking request very quickly and was extremely easy to book with.
Kevin picked us up at our hotel on time in a very comfortable and clean Mercedes van. He was very pleasant and entertaining to chat with on our way to and from Bamberg which is about an hour from Nuremberg.
On our arrival in Bamberg, Kevin took us on a walking tour of the old city. He was very knowledgeable about both the history and architecture of the old city, as well as the people of Bamberg who were involved with WW II. Along the way, he was willing to make any stops that we wanted. I wanted to stop and shop at a Christmas shop, and Kevin took us to the right shop to purchase toothpaste that we needed.
After the walking tour, we stopped for lunch and beer at Schlenkerla Brewery where we tried the Bamberg Onion and smoked beer. He didn’t steer us wrong with his recommendation of the brewery for sure.
We ended the day with a drive up to Altenburg which had great views of the city and surrounding area.
I would not hesitate to book Kevin for a tour again. I’m hoping to come back again to take his WW II tour.
Worth every penny! Highly recommend.......Reviewed by Randy Egerer, Tours by Locals
